Counter terrorism Department is a successor of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which was created in 1995.  The CID was named as Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on 2010. New roles have been assigned to it in addition to its primary intelligence function. CTD now registers and investigates all terrorism related cases at the newly established CTD Police Stations. The basic pay of employees in service has been fixed in Basic pay scales and if an employee has drawn personal basic pay beyond his/her maximum pay scale has continued as such in pay scale 2017.Annual increment is allowable on 1dec each year.
